Where is the starting point of foraging tours?

Nature Tours Estonia centre is located in countryside, 45 km from Tartu. There are several ways to get here:

  • Bus from Tartu and back (bus stop Saki). Only on some days of the week. Check the timetable.
  • Rental car (best option, we recommend!)
  • Bolt or taxi (also very good option)
  • Ask Nature Tours Estonia for a transportation service from Tartu and back (up to 4 persons, 120€)

In July our mushroom picking tours starts with foraging Chanterelles (Cantharellus cibarius), Boletus and Leccinum species, Slimy Spike-caps (Gomphidius glutinosus) and Spruce Milkcaps (Lactarius deterrimus). Then later during the season Gypsy mushrooms (Cortinarius caperatus), Parasol mushrooms(Macrolepiota procera), Woodland agaricus (Agaricus sylvicola), lot of different Lactarius species and others.

Can I keep the mushrooms I collect?

Yes, of course. You can keep them if you have possibility to process them or you can add your mushrooms to our meal we will cook together.

In July our wild berry picking tours starts with foraging of Cloudberries (Rubus chamaemorus), then Raspberries (Rubus idaeus), Bilberries (Vaccinium myrtillus), Bog blueberries (Vaccinium uliginosum) and Cranberris (Oxycoccus palustris) in the end of the season.

Can I keep the berries I collect?

Yes, of course. You can keep them if you have possibility to process them or eat until they are frsh or you can add your berries to our meal we will cook together.
